Thank you
for voting us the Best Vegetarian Restaurant in the Hartford Advocate’s Best of 2009 Poll!
Welcome
It's Only Natural Restaurant, lovingly referred to as "ION", has been around for over 30 years -- it began as a co-op and has organically grown into a Vegan oasis and the largest Art Gallery in Middletown.
Voted "Best Vegetarian" by The Hartford Advocate since 1992, ION Restaurant truly is the Best around! Everything is made from scratch: fresh whole wheat bread, carrot-miso spread, desserts, the best sweet potato fries anywhere! The mostly organic beer & wine list is always changing to offer patrons an exciting dining adventure.
The art and decor change as the surroundings literally sell: everything is for sale at ION! All art displayed, including jewelry, cards, etc., is by Connecticut artists. The outdoor dining on the deck overlooking the CT River is enhanced by new artwork by Ted Esselstyn, of Kidcity fame.
In case readers try to write off ION as just another hippy dippy burrito joint, keep in mind that the staff and owners do have a sense of humor: there are t-shirts and thongs for sale that say "Vegetarians taste better".
The latest food craze to be embraced and perfected by IONs award-winning Chefs is the Raw food movement. You really need to taste it to believe it.
